Collier High School Kateri Campus

Kateri Campus BuildingSituated on our Wickatunk Campus in the former Kateri Environmental Center Solar building, the Collier High School Kateri Campus (“Kateri Campus”) started in early 2018 to address the needs of students who would benefit from a smaller environment.  Emphasizing the individual student needs, the Kateri Campus program offers opportunities for creativity and stillness surrounded by the beauty of the woods, streams, trails, and pond.

Kateri Campus offers students a ratio of 1 teacher per 5 students (maximum). The newly redesigned interior learning space, combined with fewer transitions, promotes focus and attention on core subjects taught by highly skilled, certified secondary level teachers. Adventure-based learning activities are offered within the open space classroom of the outdoors where students are actively involved in their choice of preferred activities designed to support and encourage academic achievement. Occupational and speech therapy are offered to those students who would benefit from these services. In addition, students participate in Service Learning projects such as assisting at a rescue horse farm and maintaining a section of the Henry Hudson trail.

Collier High School’s Kateri campus is perfect for students who may need:
  • Assistance with focus and concentration
  • Smaller teacher to student ratios
  • Continuous incentives and behavioral support
  • Immediate behavioral support
